Dylan, Age 5

Diagnosed at 14 months. Husband was unemployed at the time, I was working. Went through every agency in Ohio for assistance on cost. Told we were “too rich” to qualify but if we liquidated all our assets we could qualify for limited help. Eventually my employer worked out a system where we pay the $1500 a month at the pharmacy for EleCare, then insurance will cover 90% and we get a check. Not sure what magic they do to make this happen every month (employer) but without this we would have to liquidate everything to keep our son alive. Was told it’s an Ohio thing, with insurance not seeing this as a covered condition. Funny how other states do. Too bad we cannot move. Very unfair.
