My son who is 15 months old was born with PKU. We have Cigna insurance which covers ZERO low protein medical foods and only covers a small amount of his medical formula. We do not qualify for a state run program that helps cover formula & food here in California. My husband makes too much money. But we don’t make enough money to cover buying medical foods for my son. The cost of the low protein food is so high and with shipping prices very high it’s almost impossible to afford.
