Tommy, Age 19

My son is 100% IV nutrition/hydration dependent. Without insurance covering his very expensive weekly deliveries of life sustaining supplies, I do not know how we would be able to pay for it all. Without nutrition/hydration, my son would not survive since he’s unable to take anything orally or via a feeding tube. Coverage for medical nutrition is an absolute must in order for survival!
Between the insurance through Tommy’s dad’s job & Medicaid, there are no out-of-pocket cost for IV nutrition. We are concerned about the future of paying for it when he ages out of his dad’s insurance (age 26).

The Medical Nutrition Equity Act will provide key support for those Americans who rely on medical foods to survive and thrive.
