Raelyn, Age 3

My daughter was born with PKU and our world was flipped upside down to say the least. I fought with our insurance company for months, we have “good” insurance, and yet they still they don’t see this as necessary. Having coverage for survival food and formula would mean the world to us. It’s hard to put into words, but I will try. Not having to worry about budget for food, choosing between some items, or bills each month isn’t something any parent or individual should face. It’s not ok. Our secondary insurance covers my daughters formula only, medical foods

The Medical Nutrition Equity Act will provide key support for those Americans who rely on medical foods to survive and thrive.
