Our state has a state funded program for the formula. The Kuvan my daughter takes we are getting assistance through NORD (charity organization) based on our family size and joint income. Any medical food that we order are out of pocket expenses. This would be helpful for our daughter to assure appropriate caloric intake. The food is expensive and we are extremely grateful for the help we are getting through NORD and that our state is one of the few state funded programs that supplies formula which is absolutely necessary.

The Medical Nutrition Equity Act will provide key support for those Americans who rely on medical foods to survive and thrive.
