Floyd, Age 2

I never thought that food allergies were “that serious” until all 3 of my children were diagnosed with IGe mediated allergies, EoE, and FPIES. To say that feeding them has been a challenge is more than an understatement. The true severity of allergies is not understood by so many. The severity hits when you have to stab your child in the thigh to potentially save their throat from closing up. The seriousness becomes real when you dial “911” because they are vomiting profusely and turn blue from shock. Please please hear me when I say- coverage for medical nutrition is NEEDED. We are informed, hard working adults who can see about our children’s needs. That is not the case for every child who needs this medical food to survive and thrive. Take action and save lives. Thank you.

The Medical Nutrition Equity Act will provide key support for those Americans who rely on medical foods to survive and thrive.
