Libby, Age 5

Having coverage for medical nutrition would definitely help our family financially ($500+ a month ends up taking a toll on the bank account), but would also give us peace of mind that our daughter will not have to fight for coverage her whole life. She NEEDS this formula daily, and always will. No one should have to beg, plea or fight for something that dictates whether they live a “normal”, healthy life or suffer from irreversible severe brain damage. Our insurance through my husband’s employer will not cover any part of my daughter’s formula because she is over 12 months old.

The Medical Nutrition Equity Act will provide key support for those Americans who rely on medical foods to survive and thrive.
